From Geneva to sovereign cloud
Hidora was founded in 2016 in Geneva by Matthieu Robin and his associates, convinced that Swiss companies deserved a local alternative to American hyperscalers. The starting point was simple: SMEs and mid-market companies in western Switzerland needed performant cloud hosting, with responsive technical support in French and the guarantee that their data would stay in Switzerland.
From the start, Hidora launched a PaaS offering based on Jelastic, enabling developers to deploy Java, PHP, Node.js and Python applications in just a few clicks. In 2018, the team expanded its scope with DevOps consulting and managed infrastructure services, helping companies with their digital transformation: infrastructure audits, CI/CD implementation, and migration to cloud-native architectures.
With growing demand for Kubernetes from 2020 onwards, Hidora invested heavily in certifications (CKA, CKAD, CKS) and in building a managed Kubernetes offering. This expertise gave birth in 2023 to Hikube, our sovereign cloud platform built on CNCF technologies, with synchronous replication across three Swiss datacenters.
Today, Hidora manages over 150 environments for companies such as the City of Geneva, CID ERP, the Fondation des Parkings, and many technology SMEs across western Switzerland. Our team of certified engineers works from our offices in Petit-Lancy, just minutes from downtown Geneva. Official Elastic and GitLab partners since 2022, ISO 27001 certified since 2024, and CNCF Silver Member and Linux Foundation member since 2025.
